Update 0.2 — The Rig Room

The biggest update since the play test began. Every player now has a room of their own.

0.2 · RIG ROOM

Your own room behind a steel shutter. Open it from RIG ROOM on the home page.

Customize it: speakers, turntables, headshells, mixer, knobs and fader caps, crate, lights, the wall, headphones and gadgets. Your room is saved to your account.

The crate holds The Pit Looper Vol.1 and Vol.2 — 16 loops. Put a record on a deck and it plays in the room.

MIDI: pads 1–4 and the Browse knob work inside the room.

Battle beats now come from the same 16 loops as the crate.

If 24 hours pass before you listen and rate, you concede that round — it counts as 3 stars — and the battle still goes on to the reveal.

In-game alerts with a click sound when you are matched, when it is your turn and when the result is in — while the game is open.

The message you send with your take now shows above your hood in the pit.

Japanese, a tutorial, and where DVS stands

The game speaks Japanese now, next to English and Thai. Every page in the beta switches from the globe button, and the language your browser asks for is the one you land on.

New players get shown the room instead of dropped into it. HOOD meets you at the door of the pit and offers a practice round first — how to set your mixer up, how a round is played, what the pads do. Take it or skip it, the door stays open either way.

Serato DVS timecode still cannot be recorded. Real records or CDs work today, and the setup guide shows how to switch your mixer between the two. We are still working on it.

Closed Beta — applications are coming

Soon you'll be able to sign in here and ask for a seat yourself, instead of waiting for someone to hand you a code. Invite codes that are already out keep working, and every player can still invite one person.

The first round has a limited number of seats. We'll open it when the room is ready for people we haven't met yet.

What you can play today

The Pit — the quick match. One battle at a time, 8 bars, sides drawn at random.
Played in your own time. When it is your turn you have 24 hours to start it; once you start, 4 minutes to submit.
Nothing counts toward a ranking yet. The Pit in this beta is for the sound and for the testing.
Invite only, and a Google or Discord account to sign in.

What comes after

The season — eight weeks of weekly ladder, four weeks of the official tour, then The Cut, then the throne.
The Title match — the only battle in the game where both names are open from the start.
Respect — a point you can only give to someone else, never take, and never buy.
The City — the room outside the pit, where names are open again.

None of this is live yet. The beta exists to find out what the rules do with real players.

What you need

Chrome on a desktop or laptop computer. Phones and tablets can't record.
A DJ mixer or controller connected over USB, plus headphones or speakers.
Tested so far: DJM-S9 on a Mac with Chrome. Other mixers haven't been tested yet.
Real records or CDs for now — Serato DVS timecode can't be recorded yet. The setup guide shows how to switch between the two.
An invite link, and a Google or Discord account to sign in.
